Mrs. Dyal is a graduate of Craven County Schools and excited to be back in CCS teaching.  Mrs. Dyal started teaching in 2004 at Jamesville K-12 Schools in Martin County. Prior to accepting her position at Havelock High School in 2023, Mrs. Dyal was the band director at Tucker Creek Middle School for almost six years, and worked on staff with the HHS Bands for five of those years.

Mrs. Dyal's husband Ohmer is a retired Navy corpsman and her father is also retired from the Navy as a religious program specialist.  She has four teenagers, Sarah, Jacob, Hunter and Catherine, and two furry children - Maverick and Zoe.  Hunter is a senior at Florida Southern University, Sarah is a freshman at East Carolina University, and Jacob and Catherine are both in high school. Somehow, all three of her kids that play in band are brass players - while Mrs. Dyal's primary instrument is the clarinet!

Outside of band, Mrs. Dyal loves to read all types of books, especially historical fiction.  Swimming and camping are favorite activities and when time allows she enjoys going to the gym with some of her friends.  Above all else, Mrs. Dyal loves to be with her children and spend time with them traveling and exploring new places.

Mrs. Dyal is a National Board Certified Teacher (2022) and earned a Masters Degree in Music Education - Pedagogical Studies from East Carolina University (2023).  She is an active member of the NCBA-Eastern District and serves as the middle school all district auditions chair. Additional organization affiliations include being a member of Sigma Alpha Iota, (Women's Music Fraternity), WBDI International - Women's Band Directors International, and Pi Kappa Lambda - graduate music honors society.
