Mrs. Blair Dyal

I am a graduate of Craven County Schools and proud to be back here teaching and guiding our future generations. This is my 13th year in the public school system and my 10th year teaching band. I have also taught 4th and 5th grade general music and K-5 general music. In between teaching public school I spent four years as an administrator for Excel Learning Centers. All of these varied experiences have given me different perspectives on education and the needs of students. I hope that you will continue to see my passion for education and for band as my family and I serve in this community!
My family:
I am married to my wonderful husband Ohmer, who is retired from the Navy as a medical corpsmen. My father is also retired from the Navy as a religious program specialist, so the military lifestyle is one I am very familiar with! I have four teenagers, Sarah, Jacob, Hunter and Catherine. These four are my constant reminders of why my role in the education system is so important as an advocate for ALL students. There is nothing that I love more than family time whenever we can squeeze it in among everyone's very busy schedules! During the summer you will find us at the beach or participating in my favorite pastime....camping!
My interests:
When I have a few free minutes you will usually find me reading! I love to read all types of books, especially historical fiction. I love to read the books on the Battle of the Books list and find new favorites each year. Swimming and camping are favorite sporting activities of mine and when I can I enjoy going to the gym with some of my friends. Above all else, I love to be with my children and spending time with them traveling and exploring new places.
