Havelock High School Band Boosters

The Havelock High School Band Boosters organization supports the Havelock High School Band Program. We’d like to take this opportunity to invite you to join the Havelock High School Band Boosters.
You’ll have just as much fun as your kids!

Havelock High School is the home of award winning groups in Band and Guard. Under the instruction of Jorge Benitez, Chris Elbing, Lyn Benitez, Jim Boyce, and Allen Amos, our community is privileged to share in the growth of the students of the Havelock High School Bands and to enjoy their wonderful performances. This continued excellence could not happen without the volunteer and financial support of parents, teachers and the community. HHS Band Boosters is the primary support behind these groups and their leaders.  Annual dues are $10 per family or $5 for an individual.

We encourage you to subscribe to the Band Email distribution list. We'll send you an email about upcoming deadlines and information that is important for parents/students/volunteers to know. You can do this by clicking here. There are several different distribution lists, so please indicate the band or guard student with whom you are associated so we know which list to put you on!  You may unsubscribe at any time, your email address will not be shared, and you will get no spam from subscribing!
Band Boosters typically meet on the first and third Tuesdays each month at 7:30 in the Band Room. Meetings last about an hour.  This is the Best Overall Source of information regarding band activities, and a chance to see how the overall band program operates. You’ll have a chance to sign up for Boosters activities - but you’ll never be pressured to do so, we greatly appreciate any amount of time you can give! We hope to see you there!

To join the HHS Band Boosters, compete the Member Information Form, check payable to HHS Band, and return it to us at:
101 Webb Blvd., Havelock, NC 28532
OR have students give it to a band director.

Chaperones ~ Fingerprinting information ~  Fingerprinting is $5.00 per person and you must go to HPD for printing.
A chaperone, an adult pit crew, or an equipment trailer driver who interacts directly with the students must be a Band Booster member, 21 years of age or older, in good standing as required by Craven County School Policy and Havelock Band Boosters Association Constitution and By-laws. Potential chaperones must complete two required forms, which may be obtained from the Volunteer Coordinator or Band Director, and be fingerprinted at the police department. The forms with fingerprint records will be returned in a sealed envelope to the Volunteer Coordinator who will forward the envelope to Craven County Schools Central Services. A state level background check will be run for each potential chaperone and subsequently a report will be sent to the school with the list of approved chaperones. Chaperones must also review the HHS Band Booster “Chaperone Policy and Guidelines Handbook” and sign a contract to acknowledge and agree with adherence to expected responsibilities.

What if you have already been fingerprinted in the Craven County School system? Once a volunteer has their fingerprints and corresponding background check done through Craven County Schools, they are good to go until they become inactive for a years time.  In other words, as long as volunteers are active from year-to-year without a break (missing a year's time - frequency does not apply) then they do not have to be reprinted. If you have any questions, please ask the Volunteer Coordinator.
